The Shark

Hatcher’s first grade teacher in Juneau did this amazing project and Hatcher was her model.  Nicely done.   “Students were invited to explore creative ways of communicating with their bodies.  In our current age of mask wearing and social distancing, it is more important than ever to intentionally give kids the opportunity to practice and develop social emotional skills.  The goal of these lessons was to build awareness of how our bodies can communicate many different messages.  Within a “bubble” students become giraffes, lions, birds, trees and mountains.  Sometimes they were dandelion seeds drifting about in a breeze.  Sometimes they were swimming in huge pools of peanut butter.  We also explored ways our body language communicates emotions, like happiness and sadness.”
